How Long Does the Implant Denture Process Take?
Transform your smile quickly with implant dentures. In some cases, you can even get a new smile in just one day. Watch the following patient education video to learn more.
The timeline for creating an implant denture can vary depending on the specific circumstances. In some cases, the process is quick, allowing you to come in with an existing denture, have implants placed, and attach them to your denture on the same day. However, there are situations where new dentures need to be made from scratch, which typically takes about a month for the dentures to be fabricated and attached to the implants.
If teeth need to heal or other preparatory work is required, the process can extend up to three months. One of my preferred approaches, especially when patients have some remaining but compromised teeth, involves starting with a scan and having a prosthesis ready by the time the teeth are removed. In this scenario, the patient comes in for a scan, and we work with a laboratory to create a temporary bridge. Once the temporary bridge is ready, we extract the teeth, place the implants, and attach the bridge to the implants—all on the same day.
This method provides a remarkable transformation, allowing patients to go from having problematic teeth to a beautiful, functional smile in just one day.
