The Veneer Process
Curious about veneers? The process is simple and personalized. Dr. Bivona explains how, from the first appointment to your permanent veneers, you have a say in every step.
The process of getting veneers is straightforward and personalized to ensure you achieve the smile you desire. It all starts with a plan. During the initial records appointment, we might take an impression or a digital scan of your teeth, which we use to design a case that will give you a beautiful result. Based on this design, we fabricate temporary veneers.
In the next appointment, we prepare your teeth by removing the damaged enamel and reshaping them as needed. After the teeth are adjusted, we take another scan or impression and place the temporary veneers. This step is crucial because it allows you to see and feel the temporary veneers, giving you the opportunity to provide input on how they look. While we design the veneers to appeal to the vast majority, we want to ensure they meet your personal preferences as well.
You’ll wear the temporaries for a couple of weeks, during which you can decide if there’s anything you’d like to adjust. Most patients are thrilled with the initial result, but any changes you request can be made during this phase. Once you’re completely satisfied with the temporary veneers, we take a final scan of them.
This scan is used by our laboratory, sometimes even on-site, to create your permanent veneers. The lab overlays the digital model of the temporaries onto the reduced teeth model to craft the final veneers, ensuring that the smile you loved in the temporary phase is exactly what you’ll get permanently.
If the idea of getting veneers seems daunting, rest assured that the process is designed to be simple and collaborative, allowing you to have a significant say in the final outcome. If you’re interested in veneers, we’d be happy to discuss the process with you in more detail—just give us a call.
