Additionally, Bivona Family Dental provides mini dental implants as an alternative to conventional dental implants, as they are smaller and require much less bone. While mini implants may not be suitable for everyone, they’re a great option for patients with minimal bone structure.
At your procedural appointment, we will make an incision in your gums to access your jaw. With your bone revealed, we’ll use a series of specialized drills to create a hole in your jawbone for the implant to fit. After carefully screwing the implant into place, we will stitch your gums back up to facilitate healing. This healing process typically lasts around 3-6 months; however, we can accelerate it using L-PRF—or your body’s natural healing agents.
When your implant is stable, we’ll reopen the incision and place the abutment, or connector piece, on your implant, allowing the restoration to attach securely! With the abutment in place, we will take impressions of your smile to send to a denture lab. There, technicians will craft your final restoration, providing excellent stability and comfort. When it’s ready, we’ll remove your temporary prosthetic and secure your final one onto your implants!
