What If I Don’t Have Enough Bone for a Conventional Implant?
If you’ve been told you don’t have enough bone for a dental implant, think again! Watch our video to learn how we find solutions others overlook.
It’s surprisingly common for patients to come in after being told they don’t have enough bone to replace a tooth or teeth with dental implants. However, when I review their 3D scans and discuss their situation, I often find that there’s actually plenty of bone available. Even in cases where there’s less bone, there are often solutions that other dentists might not be aware of—particularly mini dental implants.
Many dentists don’t place implants regularly, and some rely solely on two-dimensional scans, which don’t provide the full picture. Not all practices have access to advanced 3D imaging technology, which can make a significant difference in evaluating bone structure for implants. When my patients mention they’ve been told there isn’t enough bone, I often think, “I bet we can place an implant there.” And in the vast majority of cases—probably more than nine times out of ten—we can.
If you’ve been told that you don’t have enough bone for a dental implant, I encourage you to give us a call. Let us take a closer look and see if mini dental implants might be the right solution for you.
