The Dental Crown Process
Getting a crown is simple and painless. With our Cerec technology, you can leave with a perfectly fitted crown, all in one visit. Watch our video to learn more.
The process for getting a crown is straightforward. When a tooth has significant damage—such as a hole, crack, or a broken piece—it often reaches a point where the enamel needs to be entirely replaced on the top and sides.
To begin, we ensure you’re comfortably numb, and then we carefully remove the damaged enamel from around the tooth, reducing just a bit off the top as well. Once the tooth is prepared, we take a digital scan of it. With this scan, our laboratory technician can design and create a crown using our same-day crown system.
In most cases, while you’re still numb and in the chair, we can place the newly made crown, allowing you to leave the office with the entire procedure completed and without having felt any discomfort during the process.
